ArAr Gallery is an international contemporary art gallery dedicated to discovering, promoting and representing outstanding Armenian artists on the global stage.
Founded in the Netherlands in 2018, the gallery was established with a clear vision: to create sustainable international opportunities for Armenian contemporary artists while making their work accessible to collectors, institutions and art lovers around the world.
Today ArAr Gallery represents both established and emerging artists working across painting, photography, sculpture and mixed media. Alongside original artworks, the gallery develops limited-edition art objects and wearable art that extend artistic expression beyond traditional exhibition spaces.
Operating internationally, ArAr Gallery combines online exhibitions, participation in international art fairs, collaborations with museums, foundations and cultural organizations, and carefully curated physical exhibitions throughout Europe and beyond.
We believe contemporary Armenian art deserves a permanent place within the international art ecosystem - not as a regional curiosity, but as an active contributor to today's global artistic dialogue.

Ashot Khalafyan
ArAr Gallery was founded by Ashot Khalafyan, whose vision has been to create an international platform dedicated to Armenian contemporary art.
Recognizing that many talented Armenian artists lacked sustainable international representation, he established ArAr Gallery to connect their work with collectors, museums, institutions and galleries around the world.
Under his leadership, ArAr Gallery has expanded from an online platform into an internationally recognized gallery participating in exhibitions, collaborations and cultural projects across Europe.
Rather than presenting Armenian art as an isolated category, ArAr Gallery positions its artists within the broader international contemporary art conversation. This philosophy has become the defining principle of the gallery's curatorial program.

The name ArAr is an abbreviation of Armenian Art, but also reflects the Armenian word արարել (ararel) – "to create."
Since 2018, ArAr Gallery has worked to create opportunities:
